ABOUT ABOUT

This drama, by Roger Goldsmith from the UK, about a mother who makes the tough decision to turn in her son to the police after witnessing a vicious beating. Mr. Goldsmith is planning a trip to the US for its North American premiere!  He will be with us the second weekend of the run: Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17.  Playwright talkback sessions will happen directly following each performance.

Mr. Goldsmith writes, "I got the idea for the play after watching GMTV in August 2009, where Carol Saldinack, a middle-aged Mother from Chichester, explained how she reported her two sons to the police when they viciously attacked an innocent man and left him blind in one eye. Carol’s two sons were sent to prison for two years, and her family rejected her.  I thought the story interesting and worth exploring.  Although ’It Started with a Touch’ is not based on Carol’s story directly, there are elements of her situation that naturally fall out of the play.  I did not set out to write the play in a non-linear way, but that’s how it turned out.

Featuring Tara Barnett-Senecal, Dana Bocke, Christopher Gould, Dan Harrison, Michael Amatea, Samantha Jones, and Jolene Metzen.  Directed by Russ Scott.
