ABOUT ABOUT

“When I was a boy I was afraid of the dark – what was there? – and maybe one of the things I thought was there... was vampires.”

A cynical, burned-out, Dublin theatre critic becomes infatuated with a young actress and, leaving his family behind him, travels to London in pursuit of his obsession. When his subsequent encounter with the pretty ingenue go terribly awry he wanders weary and humiliated into a suburban park where he meets and is enticed into the employ of a small clan of beautiful and perenially young denizens of the night. Ultimately he finds himself facing a surprising and highly consequential choice.

Written by the celebrated, award-winning playwright Conor McPherson (The Weir, The Seafarer) this dark, funny, outlandish yarn is bound to intrigue and enrapture audiences.  Ben Brantley said in the N.Y. Times “ The narrative swings through many forms of story-telling – from self serving lies born of drunkeness to a proper Grimm-like fable.

This play is produced by Jughead Theatricals from KC, and stars Paul Orwick, a member of Actors' Equity Association.  Talking Horse Productions is thrilled to bring this show to Columbia for you!  Tickets are $12 for adults, and $10 for seniors 65+ and students.  This production contains graphic language and content, and is NOT suitable for children.
