ABOUT ABOUT

Talking Horse Productions is pleased to present its third production of the 2014 season.  GOOD PEOPLE, the newest play by celebrated playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, opens June 20 for a two-week run at the Talking Horse Theatre, 210 Saint James Street, Columbia, MO 65201.  The theatre is located in the heart of the North Village Arts District in downtown Columbia.  Here's a short synopsis of the play:

Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month's paycheck covers last month’s bills, and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who's made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America.

Tickets are $12 for adults, and $10 for seniors 65+ and students.  The box office opens 30 minutes prior to performance.  The house will only seat 70, so reserve your spot today!

Professional actress Gwendolyn Schwinke, a friend of THP's artistic director Ed Hanson, will be playing the role of Margie Walsh.  We're excited to bring Gwendolyn in for this production, and we know you'll love her!  The production is being directed by Brad Stephenson, who last directed for THP in 2012 with another Lindsay-Abaire script, FUDDY MEERS.
